This is a great combination of hiking and horseback riding to the beautiful and majestic La Fortuna Waterfall though the unique natural scenery of the tropical rainforest.
After a few safety instructions, we are ready to begin the 3 km ride through secondary rainforests and farmlands on the back of our well trained and cared for horses. The first stop will be at the Pino Blanco Waterfall Lookout point, where we will stop for a little rest, beverages, and the opportunity to take breathtaking photographs.
Next, we will continue on to the La Fortuna Waterfall through a 1 km trail of uneven terrain where you view the mature forests that surround the Fortuna River, and look for monkeys, toucans, and other birds that inhabit the region. Once we arrive at the La Fortuna Waterfall and River, you can choose to take a refreshing swim in the crystal waters or relax to the sound of the impressive waterfall and enjoy its moist breeze.
We will return on foot to the Pino Blanco Lookout Point where a tractor and wagon will await us. On the way back, we will have the opportunity to visit the Maleku Indigenous Culture Rescue project, a small representation of this indigenous culture where we can learn about their traditional dress, crafts, beliefs, and language.
Experience is not necessary, our guides will provide you with the basic instructions and the confidence to ride. Our horses are strong, intelligent, noble, and healthy, which will ensure a pleasant ride.
