Arenal Volcano and Lake Boat Tour with Optional Hot Springs 

There is no greater attraction in the northern region of Costa Rica than the Arenal Volcano. So why not enjoy it in the most picturesque way possible? This tour combines an attractive boat ride in the Arenal Lake with a hike through the National Park, while providing you with impressive views of this mighty wonder.

The tour begins with a short 20 minute ride to the Arenal Lake dam, where we will board our boat for the ride along the edge of this lake allowing us to observe the rainforest, islands, aquatic birds and some of the animals which make this area their home. This is the best possible place to take incredible pictures of the Arenal Volcano, if the clouds permit. Along the ride the naturalist guide will explain the importance of this hydroelectric dam to the economy of Costa Rica.

After 45 minutes on the boat, we will arrive at the National Park Peninsula to begin a 1km hike. This is the best trail for spotting wildlife, since it is completely private, exclusively for our agency, due to the studies we perform and the support we provide.

At the end of the trail, we will serve fresh tropical fruits, and then our van will be waiting to take us to the park’s observation point to get a closer look at the volcano and to receive a complete explanation of the history, active cycles, and geological formation of this colossal. If you would like, you can add a couple of hours at Tabacon Resort, Baldi Termales, Paradise Hot Springs, or EcoTermales with lunch or dinner.

As an alternative, you can purchase an entrance tickets with us to any of the different Hot springs, according to your preference. We will drop you off there after the tour, so you can relax and we will pick you up a couple of hours later to take you back to your hotel.
